The Division of Pulmonary & Critical
Care Medicine provides consultative services for problems involving
the respiratory system for patients hospitalized at UCSF Moffitt-Long
Hospitals. These services are available 24-hours/day. All activities
of the Division are integrated, bringing clinical and research
faculty, basic scientists, clinical and research fellows, nursing,
and technical staff together to provide the best possible state-of-the-art
care.
- Pulmonary consultation for patients
with known or undiagnosed lung diseases
- Diagnostic procedures, including bronchoscopy,
pleural biopsy, pleurodesis, stent placement, sleep studies,
sputum induction, physiologic testing
- Assessment of pre-operative risk
- Highly specialized care for asthma,
cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, sleep disorders,
occupational lung disease, lung transplantation
