The Division of Pulmonary & Critical
Care Medicine offers a comprehensive array of outpatient services
for general as well as highly-specialized problems involving the
respiratory system. The outpatient practices are housed on the
5th floor of the UCSF Ambulatory Care Center, and are open Monday-Friday
8AM - 5PM. Our multidisciplinary approach to diagnosis, management
and education results in an extraordinarily high level of care
and patient satisfaction. Our nationally- and internationally-known
faculty are responsible for more than 4,500 patient visits each
year.
- Pulmonary consultation for patients
with known or undiagnosed lung diseases
- Diagnostic procedures, including bronchoscopy,
pleural biopsy, pleurodesis, stent placement, sleep studies,
sputum induction, physiologic testing
- Aerosolized pentamidine
- Comprehensive care of the patient with
complicated lung disease
- Assessment of pre-operative risk
- Pulmonary consultation for complicated
cases in which an additional opinion is desired
- Patient education
- Highly specialized care for asthma,
cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung disease, sleep disorders,
occupational lung disease, lung transplantation
