First COVID-19 Vaccine in San Francisco Given to Dr. Antonio Gomez at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital

Our own Dr. Antonio Gomez received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at ZSFG today. Antonio's willingness to share his experience on social media is such an important public health message, especially for black and brown communities who have been profoundly impacted by the pandemic and for whom concerns about the vaccine abound.

We are so privileged to have a Director of Diversity and Inclusion who leads by example and has leveraged his platform to support community building and community trust. You can see a short movie of the event on Mayor London Breed’s tweet:

Tweet from London Breed: "he first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in San Francisco were given this morning to frontline healthcare workers at SF General Hospital! There is an end to this pandemic in sight. Let's do everything we can to keep each other safe until we get there."
